• When our Clients from Design-zavod Flacon made a decision to transform a former warehouse into a new public event space, they said to us «hey, let’s make a thing which won’t have any analogues within 3,000 km range at least».
    >>>

«The Cube» space at Flacon is a black magic box placed inside the high hall of the industrial workshop. A box does not touch outer walls nor floor. It is only accessible via bridges and an open stairs. A columns supporting a box are clad with mirrors to make it visually soar in the air. Side walls of a box are composed of mobile panels that could be moved up and down to create a range of different layouts for the main space at the ground floor level. Panels are made of perforated steel sheets which allow the quick and easy hanging of any exhibition materials. Main lighting installations are hidden behind the perforated facing of side and bottom faces to turn the box into one big source of light.

Thus a 3-level functional space was achieved: exhibition hall on level 1 + conference room inside the black cube on level 2 + lounge terrace on the top of the box. «The Cube» space allows a wide variety of unexpected combinations of different events, from exhibitions, lectures and conferences to movie screenings and parties to be carried at one time. They can complement each other, or be completely independent.

Architects: Grigory Guryanov, Denis Chistov, Anastasia Glukhova, Stanislav Kaptur
